José Sanchez
Plays: Heritage Blanca, Pluma d'Amore, Theorbe
José Sánchez moves through the musical world as a flamenco guitarist and theorbist whose path has gone far beyond conventional boundaries.
Deeply shaped by his culture of origin — flamenco — José Sánchez multiplies encounters and explores the connections between apparently distinct musical forms, ranging from baroque, classical and contemporary music to electro, by way of jazz and minimalist and repetitive music.
His career has been enriched by numerous collaborations, with orchestras such as the Geneva Camerata and the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, as well as with choreographers and directors from the worlds of contemporary dance and theatre.
More recently, he presented the project Reflets with Alberto García, now available as an album, which illustrates this approach of confrontation and dialogue between flamenco and baroque music. In parallel, he works with dancer Ana Perez, with whom he has created Concerto en 37/2, Stans and Stabat Mater, the voices of the body.
