Kiko Ruiz
Plays: Heritage Blanca
Antonio Ruiz, known as Kiko Ruiz, has been playing flamenco guitar since the age of eight. Born in Toulouse to a family of Spanish exiles, he is a songwriter, composer and poet who offers a flamenco deeply rooted in the Andalusian and Gypsy tradition, to which he brings his own distinctive mark.
His encounter with maestro Manolo Sanlúcar proved decisive: he considers him his master and finds in his music an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Holder of a State Diploma in flamenco guitar teaching, he is also the laureate of several international competitions.
An inspired melodist, Kiko Ruiz has shared the stage and recording studios with great names in flamenco such as Duquende, Esperanza Fernández and Blas Córdoba, as well as with artists from very diverse backgrounds including Renaud Garcia-Fons, Yasmin Levy and Victoria Abril.
He recorded the album Ama la vida with the Heritage Blanca model guitar.
His deep attachment to the flamenco guitar, his musical openness and his artistic personality make Kiko Ruiz a unique and accomplished artist.
